Author and illustrator, Mardell E. Alberico has been charming children with stories for more than thirty years. Her first story was about her son Scott and his stick horse. The rhyming text and sweet illustrations soon became a neighborhood favorite. Over the years this story was shared in many schools which always resulted in teachers asking for copies.
Perry the Pack Rat crept into her thoughts in a dream. In the morning while the story poured onto her computer she wondered what he might look like. A self taught artist, who works on inspiration, she waited for two weeks before Perry appeared on her sketch pad. Her first sketch was Perry on his lounge chair and Mardell laughed out loud. “Hello Perry,” she said, and it was love at first sight.
Mardell has stories for several age groups which allow children to appreciate the rewards of kindness, friendship, sharing and a positive self image. Each of her stories shares its own gentle message while her whimsical illustrations let your heart smile. As her business grows she hopes to publish each of these treasures to share with her wonderful readers.
